Ajay Garg is the founder of Equirus Capital. Ajay is a veteran investment banker, with over 22 years of experience in Investment Banking. He is acknowledged as being amongst the top dealmakers in the country. Rajiv Agarwal is currently associated with the private equity set-up of Rare Enterprises ("Rare") as a Principal. Rare enterprises is and asset management firm owned by Mr. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.

He started his career with Accenture in 1993 and spent 12 years consulting with over 70+ organizations in India, Europe, South East Asia and Middle East. Mr. Deepak Singhal is the Independent Director on the Board of Equirus Capital.

Mr. Singhal has an experience of over 3 decades with the Reserve Bank of India and a record of successful delivery through a range of challenging and diverse assignments. As Regional Director, he headed the crucial New Delhi Office of RBI for over two years.

Mr. Singhal has handled key responsibilities in Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Corporate Strategy, Budgeting and Corporate Services. He was responsible for issue of detailed guidelines on implementation of Basel III and for assessment of additional capital requirements for Indian banks to meet Basel III minimum ratio till March 2018. He retired as the Executive Director in 2019.

Mr. Singhal has a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Allahabad University. He is Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers and has done a Post Graduate Programme in Rural Management from Jaipur.

Ajit Deshmukh has over 25 years of management and leadership experience. He has been associated with Equirus in leading the technology space and had played a leadership role in cross border Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and fund raising for technology companies in IT industry & Investment Banking industry. He also heads the digital practise where we work with new age tech driven startups on their seed, growth capital, and M&A requirements. Prior to joining Equirus he was the founder of Wizarth Advisors, a boutique investment banking firm that offered financial advisory service to cross boarder M&A transactions.

Mr. Deshmukh has been working with founders of IT companies and CEOs of High growth companies in their Inorganic Initiatives. He brings in an unique combination of understanding of Technology, Business, Entrepreneurship allowing him to be an Advisor of choice for several companies. Harsh Dugar is the Head of the Wholesale Banking Division at The Federal Bank Ltd. He joined Federal Bank in 2016, after completing 20 years in Corporate Banking, HDFC Bank.

Mr. Shankar Vailaya has more than 25 years of rich experience in financial services. Mr Vailaya was part of the founding team at Sharekhan and during his 22 years stint help build one of the best retail broking platform with strong online presence. He played pivotal role in getting various Private Equity investors like Intel, Carlyle, HSBC, GA Partners, Citi Ventures and Barings Private Equity. Sharekhan was eventually sold to BNP Paribas and Mr Vailaya oversaw the successful transition of Sharekhan becoming part of a global MNC.

Bhavesh has an experience of over 22 years in Investment Banking and has been focussed on deal origination and execution across sectors. Bhavesh joined Equirus Capital from Avener Capital where he was the CEO to set up the investment banking business. Prior to that, Bhavesh was with JM Financial group for over 20 years. As a Managing Director – Investment Banking at JM Financial, he headed the Financial Sponsor Group and co-headed the Emerging Clients Division. He has been closely involved and instrumental in originating and closing some of the significant and marquee deals in the Indian private equity and capital markets. In 2006, he was with Morgan Stanley, Hong Kong, for a brief period covering the private equity investors in the Asia Pacific region. Senior Associate /Associate (Industrial Sector)-Mumbai)

Key Role :

  • Assisting the leadership team in conducting & taking lead in industry research, market mapping, preparing mandate pitches, client interface.
  • Be a touch point from data mining to preparation of marketing materials with command over Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg.
  • Be a part of end- to- end deal making cycle for multiple sell- side/ buyside mandates.
  • Candidate would be expected to get actively involved at every stage of the transaction, working closely with middle / senior management teams - leading the transaction until it gets closed (client visits, meetings, bilateral discussions, commercial negotiations, due- diligence, transaction closure agreements).
  • The candidate will primarily be focused on both origination and execution efforts. With respect to the origination efforts, he/she will manage the entire process of the preparation of origination materials (including writing industry themes, market updates and financial analyses) as well as assisting and playing a pivotal role in presenting ideas in meetings. With respect to the execution efforts, he/she will manage the day-to-day operations of executing all aspects of any transaction (i.e., preparation of information materials, conducting financial analyses, coordination with outside lawyers / accountants, assisting the team with client matters on a day-to-day basis, etc.) for M&A, PE as well as Capital Market txns.

Key Role :
