Equirus (pronounced ek-wi-rus) was coined to convey our interests in financial markets and stands for the idea ‘Equities are us’.

The Banyan Tree philosophy: The Banyan Tree was chosen as the symbol for Equirus to convey the intent of building an entrepreneurial organization where the various branches creates roots which are indistinguishable from the founding trunk. With that philosophy we have seen that the tree is able to survive for hundreds of years. It also intends to capture the strength and shelter provided by the banyan tree to its surrounding eco-system.

Equirus intends to be a full service investment bank with diverse financial products & service offerings. Each division of the organization acting entrepreneurially and developing into a full strength unit, acting in sync with its eco-system.

Equirus Capital was founded in July 2007 by a passionate group of professionals with the intent of providing quality investment banking & related advisory services for Indian Corporates with global aspirations. Equirus has been backed by prominent equity investors.

The founding team at Equirus has brought with it superior domain and market knowledge & understanding along with strong client and investor/ lender relationships. The team has excellent track record in closing transactions in varied sectors and industries. Over the last 24 months since inception, the Equirus team has closed 22 transactions.

Presently we have a team of 23 professionals with coverage across Mumbai, Bangalore and New York.
